Why remove the moss from my roof?
- Moss holds water and dirt right up
against your roofing material causing your roofing material to rot.
- Moss collects debris from surrounding
trees.
This holds even more water and decomposing vegetation against the roof.
- Moss makes your roof dangerous for
you and the people who work on your home.
- Moss just looks bad.
How do you remove the moss?
There are two ways we offer to
remove the moss on your roof. The first method is using a pressure washer
to remove the moss and applying a moss treatment. The second method to
remove moss is to apply a treatment and then remove the moss using hand
tools. You can decide what method you want us to use. Both methods cost
the same. Both methods tend to remove the same amount of grit from a composition
roof. In our experience using the pressure washer is the most thorough
method of removing moss from a roof. We put the choice in your hands.
What
will it cost me?
There are many considerations
when pricing a moss treatment or removal. Preventing moss growth on your
roof is relatively inexpensive. Treating an existing problem can be a
different story. Each job is different. There are so many styles, pitches
and types of roof material that moss removal will have to be assessed
on a case by case basis. Price is based on the time it takes to do the
job, the amount of difficulty, and the amount of danger involved. If
left unchecked moss can end up costing you the price of a new roof.
